關於Kimberly-Clark

Kimberly-Clark Corporation manufactures and sells personal care and consumer tissue products under a portfolio of household brands including Huggies, Pull-Ups, Kotex, Depend, Poise, Kleenex, Cottonelle, Scott, and Viva. The business is organized around three reportable segments: Personal Care, which sells diapers, training pants, feminine care and adult incontinence products; Consumer Tissue, which sells facial and bathroom tissue, paper towels and napkins for household use; and K-C Professional, which supplies washroom, wiping and safety products to away-from-home markets such as offices, manufacturing plants, healthcare facilities and food service. Personal Care is typically the largest contributor to both revenue and operating profit, with Consumer Tissue the volume anchor and K-C Professional the higher-margin B2B channel.

Investors track a recurring set of structural questions. Input cost exposure is central because pulp, superabsorbent polymers, resin and energy move with global commodity cycles and directly compress or expand gross margin. Retail customer concentration matters, since a meaningful share of sales flows through a handful of mass merchants, warehouse clubs and grocery chains that hold pricing leverage and increasingly promote private-label alternatives. Foreign exchange translation is a persistent line item given the geographic footprint, and emerging-market currency swings can distort reported growth. Capital allocation is closely watched: the company has a long dividend record, uses buybacks alongside restructuring programs, and carries the governance profile of a mature S&P 500 consumer staple.

The company traces its origins to 1872, when John A. Kimberly, Charles B. Clark and two partners founded a paper mill in Neenah, Wisconsin. It pioneered cellulose wadding during the First World War, which led to Kotex feminine napkins in 1920 and Kleenex facial tissue in 1924, transforming a regional paper maker into a branded consumer products company. A transformative 1995 combination with Scott Paper Company added the Scott and Cottonelle tissue franchises and materially expanded the international footprint. In 2014 Kimberly-Clark spun off its healthcare business as Halyard Health, sharpening focus on consumer and professional categories. The company is incorporated in Delaware, headquartered in the Dallas, Texas area, and its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange.

Revenue is generated primarily through sales to retailers and distributors rather than directly to end users. Personal Care and Consumer Tissue reach shoppers through mass merchandisers, grocery, drug, warehouse clubs, e-commerce platforms and, in many international markets, traditional trade; K-C Professional sells through distributors to institutional buyers under contracts that bundle products with dispensing systems. Competitive position rests on brand equity built over decades, scale in pulp-based manufacturing, distribution reach and continuous product innovation in areas such as absorbency and sustainable materials. Principal rivals include Procter & Gamble in diapers and feminine care, Essity and Georgia-Pacific in tissue and away-from-home, and a growing tier of regional and private-label producers. International markets contribute a substantial share of total sales, with developing and emerging economies a long-standing growth focus.
