Bank of America (BAC) Q2 2026: EPS +34% as Equities Revenue Surges 70%

Bank of America's margin recovery is real, but it is not what carried the quarter. Net interest yield rose 14 basis points to 2.08 percent on an FTE basis, yet the larger story sits in the fee lines: noninterest income jumped 21.8 percent to $15.6 billion while net interest income grew 9.0 percent to $16.0 billion. Diluted EPS of $1.21 versus $0.90 a year earlier — a 34.4 percent gain — rests on capital-markets strength (Equities sales and trading up 69.8 percent) layered on top of a funding-cost tailwind that has a visible ceiling. Rate sensitivity has been the central bear case on this bank through the easing cycle; the quarter answers the profitability question while raising a durability one.

Unless otherwise noted, all figures are from Bank of America's Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (SEC CIK 0000070858).
