關於Cintas

Cintas Corporation is a business-to-business services company whose core operation is renting, laundering, and delivering uniforms and related workplace supplies to more than a million customers across North America. The Uniform Rental and Facility Services segment is by far the largest contributor to revenue and profit, bundling garment rental with restroom supplies, floor mats, mops, shop towels, and hygiene consumables delivered on route by uniformed service representatives. Smaller reportable segments include First Aid and Safety Services, which stocks and services workplace first-aid cabinets and safety products, and Fire Protection Services, which inspects extinguishers, sprinklers, and alarms. Direct sale of uniforms and branded merchandise rounds out the mix, but the rental route franchise drives the bulk of consolidated profit.

Investors watch the durability of the route-based model against wage inflation, energy and fuel costs, and the price of cotton and synthetic textiles, since laundering is labor, water, and energy intensive. Customer concentration is low because the base is deeply fragmented across small and mid-sized businesses, which is itself a structural feature to monitor as it tracks broadly with U.S. employment in services, manufacturing, and hospitality. Capital allocation has historically emphasized tuck-in route acquisitions, steady dividend growth, and share repurchases funded by consistent free cash flow. Governance points include membership in major U.S. equity indices, insider and founding-family ownership history, and disclosure around workplace safety, environmental compliance at laundry plants, and wastewater permitting.

Cintas traces its origins to Richard "Doc" Farmer, who began collecting and reconditioning industrial shop rags in Cincinnati in the wake of the Great Depression, with the modern company built by his son Richard T. Farmer, who reorganized the business into uniform rental in the late 1960s. It went public in 1983 and grew through decades of route density acquisitions, most notably the 2017 purchase of G&K Services, which materially expanded its North American laundry and route footprint. Earlier divestitures narrowed the portfolio toward recurring service lines. The company is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, operates hundreds of processing plants and distribution facilities across the United States and Canada, and remains led by a long-tenured executive team.

Mechanically, revenue is generated when a route sales representative visits a customer site on a regular schedule, swaps soiled garments and supplies for freshly laundered or replenished ones, and bills on a recurring weekly or biweekly basis under multi-year service agreements with automatic renewal features. Competitive position rests on route density, plant scale, breadth of ancillary categories that can be cross-sold onto an existing stop, and a direct sales force targeting no-programmers who currently buy uniforms outright or use no service at all. Its principal rivals in uniform rental are UniFirst and Vestis, alongside numerous regional and independent laundries. Revenue is overwhelmingly generated in the United States, with a smaller contribution from Canadian operations.
